As a firm that specializes in the design of owner occupied facilities, nearly all of our more than 500 completed projects are occupied by the people who hired us. When you consider that 82% of our work is for repeat clients, you realize that we are able to meet our clients' needs time after time, with each new design and new project.
Since 1991 more than 80% of our work has been for repeat clients. This has led to the design of 24 InterWest Bank branches, 17 Bill Pierre automotive facilities, 8 Great Northwest Federal Credit Union projects, 15 First Mutual Bank Projects, and many others.
Our office experience ranges from a 240 sf one office tenant build out to the five story T & W Financial office building with three floors of under building parking.
Retail work designed by our firm are occupied by a variety of businesses including jewelry stores, import businesses, clothing boutiques, photo studios, auto dealerships, furniture stores, grocery and specialty foods stores, art galleries, and financial institutions.
We provide a complete spectrum of design services from site selection through move-in. This includes market surveys, needs analysis, site evaluations, interior design, space planning, selection of furnishings, and numerous other services.
In translating your goals and program requirements into a three dimensional design, we must understand your business, your needs, your functional requirements and the financial boundaries that have been set for your project.
Our established process includes extensive work in architectural programming, needs analysis, site evaluation, facility compatibility determinations, and feasibility studies. This allows us to provide each client with the information they need to make the decisions necessary for the development of their project.
The innovative integration of our clients' functional, economic, aesthetic, and technological requirements allows us to generate design solutions that continue to be distinctive in appearance and flexible to changing requirements, while also being operationally efficient and competitive in cost.
Innovation and functionality can be seen in our design solutions and completed projects. This comes through truly listening to our clients rather than depending on a predetermined format or standard style.
Since our beginning in 1980, The Driftmier Architects has earned a reputation for designing successful, innovative projects that are delivered on time and within budget. This includes total project scheduling with Microsoft Project, and a series of cost estimates starting with a rough project budget and working toward a Final Pre-bid Technical Estimate.

One of the largest challenges our clients face is developing and maintaining a consistent image in their market place. Often we help develop and project our client's brand and help increase market share through the Prototype development. A facility design that reinforces the brand, and which can be repeated again and again at each new location, allows our clients a competitive edge in their chosen market.
Hospitality work completed by The Driftmier Architects includes several restaurants and food service facilities, hotel remodels and expansions, and the Bellevue Hilton Convention Center in Bellevue, WA. The combination of functional and efficient kitchens and production areas with branded and marketable presentations is necessary if a restaurant is to be successful. Understanding the market and the business plan is essential to making this happen.
