Originally designed as a University Savings Bank, First Mutual Bank's Bellevue West Banking Center had been a number of different institutions prior to FMB’s purchase. With the Bank’s desire to update and remodel the banking center to meet the current marketing and operational prototype, the entire main floor and all entrances to the building needed to be remodeled while keeping the Bank and other occupants in business. One of the interesting challenges was maintaining an existing fireplace and creating an outdoor patio area, both to accommodate customers, bank staff and the breakfast club of retirees that meet at the banking center daily.
