The Juanita Professional Plaza was developed for four dentists to occupy individual but similar 1,200 square foot buildings in a “campus” plan. Two interior landscape courtyards were contained by extended walls and the operatory glass-walled sides of the flanking buildings. Two of the original dentists became primary developers of a later and adjoining dental center project known as the Juanita Professional Plaza II.
Juanita Professional Plaza II was developed as a limited partnership between seven dentists, an attorney and an architectural firm. The project was laid out with four individually designed office suites per building. The buildings were sited for the best views of Juanita Creek. Building II incorporated a small 900 square foot dental lab in the daylight basement. Building I required auger cast concrete pile to support its weight as it was located over the old Lake Washington waterfront. Building II used conventional concrete footings and grade beams as it was situated on ground never under water.
