In 1994 the Shoreline Water District outgrew its existing facility and purchased a bank branch. They hired The Driftmier Architects, P.S. to design a retrofit of the space to accommodate the district’s administrative functions. The remodel was accomplished with limited exterior changes on a tight budget.
15 years later, the Shoreline Water District has again retained The Driftmier Architects to design a remodel of their office building. This time the district has decided to do a major overhaul of their building, keeping only part of the exterior and foundation. Over the last 15 years the needs of the district have changed and the new design incorporates three private meetings rooms, including a large 1,004 s.f. board room, larger private offices, more open workstations, and a much larger fire-proof file storage area.
In order to accommodate the increase of customers in Shoreline, and provide for future growth of the community the new building footprint will increase to 6,834 s.f. and there will also be a 453 s.f. storage building constructed on the property. The design utilizes the existing generator which will power the entire building in the event of a power outage and keep the new Emergency Operations Center functioning during emergencies.
