Originally floated across the sound on a barge, this project began for Driftmier with a remodel to the lower floor that included raising the ceiling, reconstructing the master suite, and adding a wine cellar. Phase II of the project expanded the home with a three-story addition in place of the original carport. In addition to the new garage, the first level provides a formal entrance and the second level provides mechanical space, storage and a bedroom. The third floor was designed to offer spectacular views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains with a large living space and a four-season deck.
